About Dr. Elizabeth Studwell

Dr. Elizabeth Studwell is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in family connection, adoption, IVF, couples counseling, attachment-focused family therapy, and adult health and well-being

My passion is helping people reach their own goals as they navigate life’s many twists and turns by fostering new ways of approaching, understanding, and responding even in the hard times. We can grow a great deal in the midst of change and challenge. Therapy is not only for those who are experiencing profound difficulty. We all deserve support in life’s complex moments, whether that be starting high school, navigating a relationship, becoming a new parent, retiring, moving or changing jobs, having to or getting to do IVF, or heading off to college. My goal is to support meaningful change through slowing down and taking a deeper dive to increase self-awareness, self-compassion, and care.

You Shouldn’t Have to Carry It All Alone.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in working with individuals, families, and couples. I have experience working in psychiatric hospitals, behavioral day schools, mental health clinics, and helping direct a group private practice. With training in several modalities including Relational Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, non-directive play therapy, Trauma-Focused-CBT, attachment focused family therapy, Family Systems, Somatic Processing, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Core Self Reclamation Therapy (CSRT), and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP), I use an integrative model to meet my client where they are to work towards their goals. Additionally, I had the unique experience of working at an orphanage in Bogotà, Colombia counseling children and parents as they prepared for adoption, which deepened my expertise working in adoption and family attachment. I then spent a few years working at Spence-Chapin an adoption agency that worked with this orphanage, followed by over eight years of working at Rennicke & Associates, a group private practice specializing in attachment and relational forms of treatment. I also have many years of experience helping parents and their teenage children connect and thrive, and supporting adults manage anxiety and/or depression as they traverse life's many stages and large transitions in life.

“A therapy space to slow down, feel deeply, and heal at your own pace is here when you are ready.”
